Burning sensation after tummy tuck and lipo. Liposuction can be a great way to get rid of stubborn fat. Liposuction, also known as body contouring because it is considered to be an alternative to cosmetic surgery, was developed in the late 1960s and is a surgical technique used to eliminate excess fat from different areas of the body.
A burning sensation in the abdominal area one week after tummy tuck and liposuction can mean different things. Most likely it’s a minor infection and nothing to really be alarmed about unless you have prolonged symptoms and or get fevers or chills.
Burning sensation after tummy tuck and lipo? Is this the beginning of a fresh start or should I be worried? Today is day 4 post tummy tuck and lipo and I have been waking up everyday with a burning sensation in that area. What is going on? Am I having an allergic reaction or something more serious.
Burning Sensation After Tummy Tuck And Lipo
This is a common question. I had my tummy tuck 2 months ago and I feel like this all the time. It is worse when I am walking or sitting up, but it is still there even when I am laying down. When I bend over, it feels like someone is pulling my stomach muscles out of place.
I went to my doctor yesterday because it was worse than usual and he said that it would take 6 weeks for everything to heal properly and that the pain would most likely get worse before it gets better. He told me that if the pain does not start getting better after 6 weeks, then go back for another visit with him so he can see what is going on inside your abdomen.
I have had lipo done on my flanks (love handles) as well as a tummy tuck and breast lift last month. The lipo has been fine – no pain at all – but the tummy tuck has been awful! The pain began almost immediately after surgery; however, as time has passed, it has become progressively worse (almost unbearable). It seems like something has shifted inside of me – either that or something didn’t heal properly during surgery…
The burning sensation after tummy tuck and lipo is normal. It may be due to the fact that you have had a c-section and you have stitches in your abdomen. This can cause a burning sensation, itching and discomfort when you take deep breaths or cough. The pain should be gone by the end of the first week after surgery.
It’s important that you do not lift anything heavy for at least 6 weeks after surgery because this could increase blood flow to your incisions and cause them to open up or bleed. You should also avoid any strenuous activity or exercise for at least 2 weeks after surgery.
Symptoms Of Torn Internal Stitches After Tummy Tuck
C-Section After Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck is performed to remove extra skin and fat from the abdominal area. This can be done as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with other procedures such as liposuction, breast reduction, or breast lift.
The recovery time varies depending on the type of surgery performed. For example, a tummy tuck combined with liposuction will take longer to recover from than just a tummy tuck alone.
Common complications that may occur after any type of plastic surgery are infection and bleeding.
Other possible complications include:
Numbness or discoloration of the skin around the incision sites
Tummy tuck surgery is a very popular procedure for women who are looking to improve their appearance. A tummy tuck is an operation that removes excess skin and fat from the abdominal area, as well as tightens loose abdominal muscles. It can be used to treat a wide range of problems such as loose abdominal skin, stretched muscles, umbilical hernias or even body contouring after pregnancy.
During a tummy tuck surgery, internal stitches are placed beneath the skin to hold it together while it heals. Once the internal stitches have been removed, they leave behind very small incisions that are barely visible. In most cases, patients can expect to see these incisions within two weeks after their surgery has been performed.
A c-section after tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that is performed to remove the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes in women who have undergone abdominal surgery. This surgery is recommended for women who have had complications from their previous abdominal surgeries or those who are at risk for them. A c-section after tummy tuck can be performed either by laparoscopy or through open surgery.
The goal of the procedure is to remove any adhesions that may be present in the abdomen and pelvis region. Adhesions are scar tissue that forms between two organs while they are healing from an injury or surgery. If these adhesions are left untreated they can cause serious complications in the future including bowel obstruction, infertility, and bowel perforation.
Tearing Feeling After Liposuction
Tearing can happen during any type of liposuction or body contouring procedure, but the risk is higher in areas where the skin is thinner than others, such as the inner thighs, buttocks, and knees. Tissue trauma or bleeding can also lead to a tear or hematoma that requires surgical intervention.

If this happens during liposuction, the doctor will generally stop the procedure and close the area with stitches before continuing with the rest of it. If there is a hematoma (a collection of blood) present inside the incision site, this could require surgical intervention as well since it can cause infection and other complications if left unattended.
The feeling you are describing is normal and should go away in about two weeks. It is caused by some of the swelling around the wound. The feeling can be compared to a c-section incision that has been healed for a few months. The skin around the scar will feel tight and sometimes even painful.
The best thing to do is to keep applying lotion or vaseline to the scar area, but not too much or too often. You may also want to lay off any exercise until all of your stitches have dissolved (about 3 weeks). If you have any concerns about your recovery or questions about what you should be doing, please contact your plastic surgeon.
Feeling of tightness or pulling in the area of the incision after liposuction. I had a tummy tuck and lipo in my upper abs, flanks and back. I am 8 days post op and can’t stop feeling like something is pulling at my incision. It feels like the skin is pulling on the inside of my stomach/abdomen area. It’s not pain, but just uncomfortable. Is this normal?
I’ve also been having some cramping in that same area, but nothing major…just some mild discomfort.
I’m going to call my PS tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this or knows what it could be?
