How Long Does It Take To Recover From A Tummy Tuck And Bbl

Time required to feel back to normal after a tummy tuck or bbl surgery differs from patient to patient.

For optimal physical recovery, you must also follow certain guidelines. BBL recovery is approximately 4 weeks and involves sitting on a special cushion that prevents you from putting weight on your buttocks.

Therefore, in principle, it is feasible to do both BBL and a stomach tuck at the same time. If you want perfect results, you should seek out the most specialized and skilled body contouring surgeon you can find. The same Surgeon, however, will prioritize your safety and well-being above all else, and will provide individualized guidance to make sure you can handle the recovery process.

It’s a very adaptable surgical procedure. You’ll have your pick of treatments that focus on exactly where you want to see progress..

Surgeries that are commonly part of a mommy makeover are:

  • Breast augmentation
  • Breast reduction
  • Liposuction
  • Tummy tuck
  • Mini tummy tuck
  • Breast lift
  • Brazilian butt lift
  • Labiaplasty
  • Non-surgical procedures

In this post, we’ll discuss what you can expect when recovering from a mommy makeover, including the amount of time you will need to take off work and/or arrange for childcare.

Your recovery time will depend largely on your body’s recovery rate and the procedures that are part of your mommy makeover. Keep in mind that recovery from a mommy makeover is typically not short.

The length of recovery time you will need is dictated by your most extensive procedure. For most patients, this is a tummy tuck. Here is a rough estimate of the recovery time for the most common procedures:

  • Breast lift and/or augmentation – back to work within a few days, six weeks before lifting or strenuous exercise
  • Liposuction – back to work the next day, six weeks before lifting or strenuous exercise
  • Tummy tuck – back to work after about two weeks, at least six weeks before lifting or exercising

how to prepare for tummy tuck and bbl

Eat more lean proteins and try to maintain a healthy diet.
Don’t light up for a few weeks leading up to and after your belly tuck. BBL

Abdominoplasty, often known as a tummy tuck, is a significant surgical treatment that requires careful planning to achieve a positive outcome. Your cosmetic surgeon will give you a list of things to do and avoid before your procedure. Dr. Paul McCluskey is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Atlanta and the surrounding area who specializes in stomach tucks and other body contouring treatments.

Start by preparing a special rest area for yourself. Make sure to get extra pillows (we recommend a full body pillow) so that you will be completely supported while you rest.

Immediately After Surgery

A mommy makeover is an outpatient procedure, meaning that you will go home the same day as your surgery. You will be sent home with the appropriate compression garments (included in the cost of your surgery) and a prescription for pain medication. North Raleigh Plastic Surgery does not carry or dispense narcotic pain medication.

You will need someone to drive you home as you will be coming out of anesthesia and will be on pain medication. We cannot allow patients to drive themselves home after surgery.

You should also arrange for childcare and help around the house for a few days, as you will be on narcotic pain medication for around one week after surgery. As long as you are on narcotic pain medication, you will not be able to drive. After the first week, we recommend using NSAIDs (Motrin or Advil) for pain.

You can resume light childcare duties (cooking, helping with homework) after this time but you will still not be able to lift anything more than 5 pounds until approximately 6 weeks post-op.

It is important to note that if a tummy tuck was part of your mommy makeover, you will need to remain bent at the waist for approximately two weeks after surgery.

Plan to sleep on your back or side during recovery. Many patients choose to sleep in a recliner as it helps them stay bent at the waist.

You will have your first post-op appointment with Dr. Ortiz at the 1 week mark, and another appointment at the 2 month/6 week mark. Any stitches will be removed at your first post-op appointment.

While complications are rare, the most common complication after a cosmetic procedure is infection at the incision sites. To lower this risk, follow all of Dr. Ortiz’s post-op care instructions and avoid swimming for at least three weeks after surgery.

You will continue to wear compression garments during this time and may return to work after approximately 2-3 weeks.

At approximately 6 weeks/2 months after your mommy makeover, you should be able to start returning to your normal activities, including exercise. By this time.

Once a patient’s tummy tuck procedure is complete, all the patient needs to do is heal. Miami Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Tal Roudner, states while everyone wants to bounce right back, a tummy tuck procedure is a major surgery and return to normal activities needs to be gradual. It is important to ambulate early after the surgery to prevent blood clots in the veins (DVT).

Bbl Or Tummy Tuck First

Tummy tuck and BBL are just two examples of procedures that might take a long time to perform because of the many separate phases involved in ensuring optimal outcomes.

An increase in postoperative risks and problems has been linked to longer anesthetic and surgical periods. For this reason, we at Centre for Surgery recommend avoiding complex treatment plans in favor of those with fewer moving parts. We are a day surgery center, therefore we evaluate each surgical operation to make sure it fulfills our rigorous admittance standards. When caring for patients, remember that their safety is of paramount importance.

Because of the interconnected nature of abdominal laxity and breast alterations after pregnancy and lactation, we often treat patients with a combination of operations. Combining liposuction or a stomach tuck with breast surgery like an augmentation or lift is a common course of action. The recuperation period for a mummy makeover is substantially faster than it would be for a belly tuck and breast augmentation performed separately, and the results are amazing. However, a mummy makeover is still serious surgery that requires a longer recovery time than most individual breast or body operations.

When conducting a stomach tuck, liposuction is typically incorporated to shape the flanks and waist region, and the breasts may easily be dealt with while the patient is laying on their back, making it possible to keep the total operating time for a mommy makeover to under five hours. Patients undergoing mummy makeovers should be in peak physical condition, with a healthy weight and body mass index, to maximize their safety while under anesthetic for the whole duration of the procedure (often 5 to 6 hours). Since all of the procedures included in a mummy makeover are performed on the same side of the body, the recovery time is minimal.
