Laser for pubic hair removal is a great way to keep your bikini line looking clean and tidy. However, it’s not always the most comfortable thing in the world. In fact, sometimes it feels downright painful! If you’re looking for an alternative to laser hair removal for your bikini line, there are two options that might be worth considering: electrolysis and waxing.
Waxing can be done at home with a kit or professionally at a salon. It’s messy, but it’s effective at removing hair from your pubic area. Waxing can also be painful—especially if you don’t pre-treat your skin with an exfoliant before applying the wax strip—but it’s worth it in the long run because it lasts longer than shaving or laser treatments tend to do. If you’re looking for something even more permanent than using wax strips on your bikini area, consider electrolysis as an option. Electrolysis involves inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle and applying energy directly into each one until they’re destroyed completely by causing them to melt away from their roots instead of just being plucked out by their tips like they would if you were pulling.

Laser For Pubic Hair Removal 3 Weeks Apart
I have been on the waxing bandwagon since my teenage years. Juggling different appointments at different times of the month (depending on the hair growth on each part of my body) and keeping aside cash in my monthly budget —The struggle was real—And that’s when I turned to the spontaneous and affordable option: the razor. And while the shaving life wasn’t that hectic, it did need a dedicated extra half hour of shower time. Every twenty-something working girl knows how precious an extra 30 minutes can be, so that’s when I decided to start gingerly researching laser removal that could possibly give me a long-term solution to my hair growth.
That’s when I stumbled upon The Thérapie Clinic. The clinic, in Fort (South Mumbai), has the latest in laser technology—The limited edition Soprano Ice Platinum. This is the only clinically-proven method of hair removal that is painless, yet highly effective.
The Patch Test
Full disclosure: I have a medical history, so I wasn’t sure if I could even get a patch test, which is where they test a small patch of your skin (preferably somewhere on the arm or a leg) to see how you and your body reacts to the laser. But after a green signal from my doctor and a consultation with the experts at Thérapie, I forged ahead.
They drew a square on my arm with the help of a white pencil (marking the patch), shaved it and then applied a gel that helps with the swift movement of the laser machine on the skin. And after a few beeps (and what felt like a millisecond) I was done!
The Procedure
You will be amazed to see how quick and painless a laser session here really is. I scheduled a full body laser treatment so that I could report my experience and the results of this treatment in entirety. Shraddha, the manager at Thérapie advised that we only tackle those areas that have hair growth, rather than a complete head-to-toe, no-inch-spared approach. Even though I don’t have PCOD, I do have some hormonal imbalance that affects my hair growth.
When it comes to the face—Apart from the usual suspects: upper lip, chin and a tad bit of side locks, I wanted them to target some unwanted hair growth on the side of my neck. I always had a few thick strands of hair that I would pluck almost on a daily basis—annoying, to say the least! And like Shradha mentioned during our consultation, the
coarser
and darker the hair, the better the results—I can say now, after the experience that it’s 100% true! For the body, I asked them to target full arms, underarms, full legs, bikini and little patches on my stomach and nipple area.
Twenty four hours before my first-ever full body laser session, I had to wet shave all the above-mentioned areas. While I am good at shaving my hands and legs, shaving down under was a whole new ball game altogether! I suddenly have an all new respect for my bikini waxer! But after a few sessions, you’ll ace the shaving game just like I did after my fourth session!

So they kick-started the sessions by marking small squares all over my body, lathering on some transparent gel, and giving me chic, protective eye-wear that made the entire process seem cooler! They even gave me a stress ball to divert my nervousness, but honestly, I didn’t need it. Small areas like the face and underarms take less than 5 minutes, while full legs and hands and the bikini area can take about 15 to 20 minutes each. While it depends on your tolerance for pain, the entire affair for me, was almost painless. The only times I felt uncomfortable was when I felt some warmth on some highly sensitive patches or tingling on areas close to a bone like the knees. It sometimes stings (very minute and bearable) when the laser hits the patch where you have coarse hair growth or in-growths. But that’s all you feel!
The Aftercare
Once I got done with my full body session, they put a generous amount of cooling gel or laser aid. This gel cools down the area that has been exposed to the laser so that skin does not react in any way. There isn’t a long list of things you can’t do right after your laser, but the most important was to wear loose and comfy clothes and stay out of the sun (before as well as after). They also advised me to keep my body cool, NOT workout for the next 24 hours and keep applying laser aid for the next 48 hours. Also, I was told to go easy on the cosmetics and skincare regime for the next 24 hours after my session.
The Results
So, on an average, a person would need around 6 to 8 sessions of laser that are spread over a 6-8 weeks interval for the body and 4-6 weeks gap for the face. Again, the number of sittings you need will depend on how well your body responds to laser (mine did fantastically well!) Shraddha mentioned that it could take up to 2 weeks to see results and that the dead hair takes about 15 days to grow out and fall out. So, right after my first session when I didn’t see any difference in my hair growth, I just continued to shave as and when required for two and a half weeks. Post this, I suddenly noticed a remarkable difference in my hair growth.
Laser has slowed down my hair growth in all parts of my body and the hair that comes out is much finer. I stopped shaving my hands and legs for weeks and the hair on my underarms was so fine I didn’t even feel the need to shave it! And remember the hair growth I used to have on the side of my neck that I had to deal with every day? That was such a problem for me and it even gave me some marks (which I had to conceal with makeup)—That problem is no more, thanks to laser. I only have to shave there once a week and my neck looks spotless! From shaving my legs and hands once in 4-5 days I went to shaving once in two and a half weeks. After each session, the hair growth slows down and the hair becomes finer. I am now going to my fourth session and I practically shave once a month or before my laser session only. This really is a dream come true for me! So if you ask me if laser is worth it, I would say:
After seeing the effects of laser first hand, I really recommend this treatment to everyone who wants to get rid of their hair growth. The Thérapie Clinic is the place that I would suggest as they have always kept my safety first and done everything to make my experience seamless. My usual waxing lady is not happy about the fact that I have stopped coming to her, but oh well!
This has been by far the best treatment I have undergone in my life. If you are interested in it or know somebody who is, I suggest you give them a call and book a free consultation with The Thérapie Clinic now! I have also compiled some FAQs that I received on DM when I would go in for my laser sessions. The experts at The Thérapie Clinic have answered all your curious questions.

Best Way To Remove Underarm Hair For Teenager Naturally
Long, shiny, bouncy are some of the adverbs women want people to describe their beautiful tresses as, the tresses that adorn and are the crown of their head. Women take various measures to maintain them and help them grow. But when it comes to body hair, women’s opinion exactly contradicts the one they have about hair on the head; they want to get rid of body hair. It is important to understand that the main function of body hair is to cover and act as a cushion for sensitive body parts against the external damages. So, having hair in different parts of the body is beneficial. But for many people, especially women, body hair tends to affect their looks and aesthetic wellbeing and therefore opting to remove them permanently is the best solution. The usual issues faced, especially by women, are about facial and armpit hair and fittingly there are different techniques through which they can be permanently removed at salons. However, hair removal, especially on the underarms can be performed at home. Doing so at home is not just cost effective, but natural and more importantly, safe.
ARTIFICIAL UNDERARM HAIR REMOVAL METHODS:
There are quite a ways to remove underarm hair for women. While some of the techniques are not painful, they do not give the desired result. Similarly, some techniques can hurt but provide long lasting results. Few of the usual techniques for underarm hair removal are:
- • Shaving Underarm Hair:Benefits:The most common thought for any gender when it comes to removing body hair is shaving. It is the easiest, most readily available and the most cost effective way of removing armpit hair. Shaving is a quick process with a person needing a good razor and a good quality, no side-effect causing cream.Drawback:The short-hand of shaving is that it will not give long lasting effects and may result in causing rashes and cuts on the armpit area, sometimes leading to itchiness and burning sensations. However, if shaving is combined with other products available at the stores, it can provide longer relief from underarm hair.
- • Tweezing :Benefits:Tweezing has its advantages and disadvantages when compared to shaving. The positive being that tweezing gives a more long-lasting effect than shaving with the effect lasting for 4-5 days than the 2-3 days when you shave the underarm.Drawback :However, tweezing can be very painful as it involves plucking of hair and the underarm being a sensitive area, it can cause discomfort. Tweezing is a better option when it comes to removing facial hair.
- • Underarm Waxing :Benefits:Waxing is a method that results in semi-permanent effect when removing hair i.e. it removes hair for up to three weeks. This requires the use of hot wax at the desired body areas. The hot wax is applied with the help of a cloth, which is then removed by pulling in the opposite direction of the hair growth direction in a swift motion.Drawback:Though effective, waxing can be a painful experience.
- • Epilators :Benefits:It is an electronic device that removes body hair by holding onto it and pulling it out. It is easy to operate and causes less pain while removing body hair. However, epilators might not work well on all skin types and may end up darkening the skin.Drawback :Make sure your armpit hair is not too long as it can cause the device to get tangled and make the experience hurtful. While all these are the artificial methods are effective in their own ways, there are several homemade methods for underarm hair removal which are equally and more effective, both performance and cost wise. Some of these useful and thoughtful home remedies are mentioned below.
